Multi-faith ring of peace circles City Shul
Christian and Muslim members of local churches and mosques circled City Shul on November 1 in a ring of peace. Organizers wanted to show solidarity with the synagogue, which operates out of the Bloor Street United Church at Bloor and Huron streets, after a deadly attack at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh. All seven of the registered candidates running for election in University-Rosedale have been invited to participate in an all candidates meeting at Trinity-St. Paul’s United Church (427 Bloor St. W.) on May 23 at 6:30 p.m.
The local residents’ associations and BIAs are sponsoring the event, which will include an opportunity to ask questions of the candidates. Read more
Trinity-St. Paul’s United Church marked Palm Sunday with a special children’s pageant. Written and directed by David Craig, a playwright with the Tarragon Theatre, Children at the Gate celebrates the miracles of every day life by following a group of children who ask a rabbi in ancient Rome to perform miracles.
