When Toronto’s new mayor wanted to trash a well-planned and negotiated transit plan (Transit City) that already had shovels in the ground and senior government funding, Ontario’s Liberal government quickly acquiesced — without even waiting for a vote by City Council.

What will you and your party do to protect the province’s largest and capital city from the destructive urges of short-sighted municipal Tea Partiers?

Here’s my question for all four candidates in the Parkdale-High Park riding:

If you are elected MPP for Parkdale-High Park on Oct. 6, what will you do to ensure that dementia becomes a top priority in Ontario government policies and that action is taken to address the issues of detection, greater caregiver support and accessibility to appropriate geriatric services, and investment in research and healthcare worker training, as outlined in the Alzheimer Society’s 10-point action plan?
