The building, designed by the IBI Group, would feature a six-storey “podium design,” topped with a 24-storey residential tower. The 418 residential units in the building would likely be condominium units, consisting of 79 studios, 229 single-bedroom units, 67 two-bedroom units, and 43 three-bedroom units.

The new 35-storey high rise planned for the northwest corner of the Bloor and Spadina intersection has been a long time coming. The development, planning, and community consultations have been ongoing for four years. Now, with only two full council meetings before the fall election, community organizations and developers have had the opportunity to discuss how to do something tangible with the public space in the building to support the community that surrounds it.

Two of the development projects the Gleaner reported on last year have been completed and in their place seven new ones have started. The Gleaner is distributed between College Street, Dupont Street, Avenue Road and Christie Street and this year there are 17 development sites within those boundaries.
