Councillor Mike Layton’s (Ward 19, Trinity-Spadina) eighth annual kick off to Bike Month returns May 27 from 12 to 5 p.m. at Christie Pits Park.
Bike with Mike is a free, family-friendly community cycling event open to anyone who wants to participate. It will feature a free barbecue and many children’s events like bike decorating, bicycle-themed story telling, and tricycle races. There will also be free bike safety checks, tune-ups, and community cycling information. Read more

Directed by Martin Edmonds, the play follows Timothy Westerbury in 1970s England, an overworked advertising executive whose daughter is about to be married. Laugh along as the family navigates the stress of a wedding and Westerbury’s controversial marketing ideas. The Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) has completed its pre-hearing process for 321 Davenport Rd., where Alterra Developments has applied to build an eight-storey glass building including 16 penthouse condominiums and a two-level parking garage on the site. The development would require a by-law amendment, as the application as it stands now exceeds restrictions on height and density for the area. Read more

A car washing machine cleans a Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) streetcar at the St. Clair Car House in 1934. The site at Christie Street and St. Clair Avenue West was a streetcar maintenance facility from 1913 to 1978, and then fell into disrepair for several years until Artscape, a not-for-profit urban development organization, redeveloped the site into a community cultural centre. On March 3, Artscape Wychwood Barns celebrated its 10th anniversary with The 512 Showcase!, a talent show hosted by Amanda Martinez featuring a diverse range of local performers.
